Erica,
We need some more info to try to help you.
1. You indicate a MacBook Pro 13' but also iOS 8.0.2 (which runs on an iPad or iPhone) -- what is the OSX version actually running on your MBPro? Click the Apple icon, far upper left corner, then About this Mac -- the Version will appear in the second line, like '10.10.1' or something earlier.
2. Presumably this unwanted 'download' shows when you have Safari running? Or at some other time?
3. Advise if you have completely restarted the MBPro, the router and the modem, all three turned off at the same time.

4. Try to identify, or at least describe, exactly what is trying to download ... some name, some first few characters, the error message (hopefully in its entirety!)
5. Advise what Safari Extensions you have installed.
6. View your Downloads folder -- assuming you've moved everything you know you want to keep elsewhere, then delete all the contents (move to trash).
Until you can get rid of whatever is popping up,please be very careful and refuse to install it.
